Hey y’all, fall sessions are in full swing over here! Here in the Midwest, fall is by far the most popular time for senior photos, and I know why – it’s gorgeous!! However, just because it’s absolutely beautiful outside doesn’t mean that it’s easy to pick what you’re wearing for your session! If you’re like me, getting ready on any typical day takes several outfit changes and options. I know that selecting outfits for you senior session can feel like a monster – it’s suppose to be so much fun, but it just becomes SO overwhelming!
Well, no worries! I’m sharing with you some of my favorite fall looks over the years. Now, just because a look you have in mind isn’t on here, doesn’t mean it’s a bad option, and it certainly doesn’t mean that it’s not cute! I know that some outfits just don’t photography well and don’t allow for a lot of posing options, so it’s always best to chat things over!
Let’s get started! Scroll through and read why I love each look! Hopefully these looks will help inspire you for your upcoming session or fall outing!
I love stripes – screams classy fall!
A fluffy Patagonia with flannel – such a perfect fall combo! Flannels are the EASIEST way to give a fall vibe to any outfit! You don’t even have to button them up – leave them open with a graphic tee or even tie around your waist! So many options!
Okay, so this is actually from a family session, but I LOVED their outfits!! Such a cute combo! Mariah (on the left) wore a burgundy corduroy mini skirt paired with a mustard blouse and jean jacket. Susan (middle) paired a gorgeous flannel blouse with a faux fur vest. I love how she paired it with some extra bling in her necklace. Mallory (right) wore a bold burgundy sweater. I love thicker knit as it adds more detail to her images!
This rust color is my favorite this fall, and I love how it truly warms up the photo!
Utility jackets are my favorite nearly anytime of the year, but during fall, I’m wearing mine nearly 24/7! So easy to add something extra to your outfit, but still looks classy! Also, a great way to stay warm during your session without putting on a heavy coat!
Below, Naomi is wearing a slightly different version of a utility jacket. The sweatshirt lining gives a more casual look, but still gives a cozy fall vibe!
I’ve been in love with jean jackets for a very long time, and I’m really happy that the rest of the world is back in the “jean jackets are cool” mindset! I think this is another EASY way to stay warm during your session without looking like you’re wearing a coat. It also helps to switch up your outfits during your session without actually having to change looks!
Mustard is IN! If you haven’t tried this color now is the time!
I love this combo of rust and denim! If you love a more vintage-y vibe – this is such a cute outfit option!
Okay, I had to throw this one in because I love red, and I LOVE this pop of red! It’s such a great pop of color that still feels warm and cozy!
Patterns are always a great option. Just make sure the colors in the pattern still bring that warm fall feeling.
Here’s that GORGEOUS mustard again!! Y’all jump on this color!
I love this look! I’m all about cardigans and this brighter, apple red cardigan is JUST the perfect amount of color! Layer your cardigan with a plain v-neck to eliminate a busy outfit and pair it with your favorite pair of denim!
I know this is a little overkill, but I seriously love every single one of these outfits! You need to CLICK HERE to see the entire styled shoot and get inspired by ALL of the outfits!! SO SO SO cute!!
