Growing up in the mid-west, I’ve learned to never expect the weather to be a certain way. If it’s fall, don’t expect cool breezes and crisp mornings. If it’s February, you might experience 60 degree days, and then a snow storm a week later. Anything is possible on the weather spectrum at nearly any point.
Megan and I have been chatting through her engagement session for a few months, and we were both so excited for the end of July to arrive. Megan shared with me she and Tanner wanted their photos on some country property their family owns. It’s out in rural Dietrich, and it’s also where Tanner popped the question. Days leading up, I was worried we’d run into rain during the session since the weather is so unpredictable, but Megan shared they wanted to make the most of whatever the weather brought. Megan wasn’t sure when they’d be able to reschedule with a busy farming season.
We were able to get in about 10 minutes of photos before the rain came! Luckily these two were total champs and so go-with-the-flow. I’m not a huge fan of storms and rain, but y’all, this was the best it could’ve been! Just a light shower and the sun was still shinning. I love how adorable these rainy photos look, and I couldn’t get over how great the property was! I always get so excited when I get to photograph on personal property. Take a look below at all of the fun. I can’t wait to photograph these two on their wedding day in July 2019!
